2.2.5
A built-in editor for writing documents with import and export, companies in Contacts, chats and projects that can move between Clouds, a redesigned upload screen, and tasks you can hand to a teammate.
Released May 7, 2026.
You can now write and edit real documents inside Emerge.ai, starting from Markdown, HTML, and Word files and saving out to HTML, Word, PDF, and images. Contacts now holds companies as well as people, with tags to sort them. Plus chats and projects that can move between Clouds, a redesigned upload screen, tasks you can hand to a teammate, and a set of fixes.
Rich text editor (New Feature)
- Write and format a document in Emerge.ai: A built-in editor with bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, headings, lists, tables, code blocks, block quotes, and more
- Add more than paragraphs: Drop in a table and edit its cells, rows, and columns, or add a to-do checklist, a table of contents, or a dividing line
- Code stays readable: A code block shows which language it's in, colors the code for more than 60 languages, and has a button to copy it
- Bring documents in, and take them out: Start from a Markdown, HTML, or Word (DOCX) file, and save what you write as HTML, Word, PDF, or an image
- Edit a Drive file where it sits: Open a Markdown file from Drive, or from a file preview, in an editor panel you can resize
- Formatting comes to you: Select some text and the formatting options appear right where you're working
Move chats & projects (New Feature)
- Move a chat to a different project: Tidy up your Cloud by moving chats from one project to another
- Take a chat to another Cloud: Move a chat across Clouds, and choose whether to copy its files along with it
- Move a whole project at once: An entire project can go to a different Cloud
- Pull a chat out of a project: Detach a chat from its project and it becomes a personal chat
- Move from wherever you are: The move options sit in the chat toolbar, the menus you open from the sidebar, and chat settings
Companies (New Feature)
- Keep companies alongside your contacts: Create, view, edit, and delete companies in Contacts
- Record how to reach a company: Add and edit a company's website, phone numbers, and social media links — Emerge.ai recognizes which platform each social link is for
- Find a company quickly: Search your companies instead of scrolling to find one
- Sort companies your own way: Add tags to a company so you can group them how you like
Redesigned file uploads
- Uploading is clearer: The upload screens in chat and in Drive have been redesigned and are simpler to read
- Decide who sees a file as you upload it: Uploading to Drive asks whether the file is Private or visible to Everyone, with a card for each choice
- See where a file is being used: A file's details list the chats that reference it
Tasks improvements
- Hand a task to someone: Assign a task to a team member from the new assignee picker
- Pick a due date more easily: The calendar for setting a task's due date has been redesigned and is cleaner to use
- Narrow the list to what matters: Filter pills let you show tasks by status (Open, Hold, Closed) and by priority (High, Normal, Low), and they fit whatever screen you're on
Drive & file improvements
- Upload Excel Binary Workbook files: XLSB files can now be uploaded and worked with
- See what a file is before you open it: Drive files show a small preview picture where there is one
- Know when a file is ready for chat: A file Emerge.ai is still preparing shows that it's loading until you can use it in a conversation
- Go straight from preview to editing: Open a Markdown file in the editor from any file preview
- Screen recordings preview again: A screen recording file shows its preview
Website updates
- Getting around the website is easier: The website navigation has a better layout and updated links
- The footer has been refreshed: Updated links and an updated arrangement at the bottom of the website
Bug fixes
- Answers name the model that wrote them: A reply shows the model that handled your message
- Contact editing: Fixed static header when editing contacts and companies
- Deleting a file in a chat works: Files you delete from inside a chat are deleted properly
- Settings scroll on a small screen: The General and Profile settings pages scroll properly on smaller screens
- Long file names stay on one line: A file preview's title is trimmed to a single line instead of spilling over
- Reach every file action in a narrow space: When the file toolbar runs out of room, it scrolls sideways so you can get to the rest
